BIRBS

My “Birbs" series is inspired by the deliberate misspellings of bird used in internet slang. These playful terms of affection describe birds considered to be cute and/or humorous. This series sparks joy and appreciation for birds, inspired by #birb memes on social media. While they are whimsical, these stylized bird renderings also express an existential anxiety informed by the uncertain future for birds and the world in which we all reside.
